Now the honest ledger: it is not an inverter (single-speed compressor, so you hear cycling the Midea U never makes), CEER 12.0 is well behind the 15.0 U-shape crowd, and at roughly $600 street through FactoryPure, Walmart, and Amazon it costs more than better-specced rivals — you are paying for the form factor and the safety story. Fit is the other filter: sills/walls deeper than about 11 inches rule it out, exactly the opposite constraint of GE's ClearView (which flexes to 13.75 in). Long-term owner threads are thinner than for Midea, but recurring complaints include drain-hole icing in humid climates and a Wi-Fi app that feels a generation old. The fit constraints are non-negotiable — measure sill depth (11 in max) and sash travel before ordering, because 'it didn't fit my window' is the most common negative review. Compared to the GE ClearView 10K, this is cheaper, lighter, and simpler but far less powerful and less efficient; compared to a Midea U 8K it's quieter-adjacent at low speed but louder over a night of cycling.
